Connected Learning

One programme, many local classrooms.

The Lab’s network brings together students learning in universities, community hubs, refugee education programmes and online spaces.

Students work locally with Teaching Fellows and peers while also joining a wider global classroom through shared materials, gallery exchanges, research projects and cross-border discussion.

Collaboration Model

Global teaching depends on local partnership.

GHL’s model combines shared online learning materials with local teaching, discussion and student support. Partner institutions help connect the global programme to specific classrooms, communities and student needs.

Universities

Academic partners host students, support teaching and connect local classrooms into the wider GHL network.

NGOs & Foundations

Non-profit and foundation partners help expand access to learners beyond traditional university settings.

Refugee Education

GHL’s network includes partners working with displaced learners and students affected by conflict or exclusion.

Online Learning

Students and Teaching Fellows participate through shared digital spaces, course galleries and cross-border discussion.

Partner Status

A clearer view of the active network and wider collaborators.

The network includes institutions and organisations involved in recent course delivery, alongside a wider group of previous collaborators and developing connections.

This structure helps distinguish partners active in the most recent programme year from organisations connected through earlier or developing phases of Global History Lab.

Learning Across Borders

Partners help make the global classroom real.

The strength of the network lies in the way local classrooms, Teaching Fellows and partner teams bring their own contexts into a shared programme.

Through this model, students learn from peers across borders while developing the skills to interpret sources, ask historical questions and contribute new narratives.
